Brief info
He is a Librarian overseeing Library ICT and Electronic Resources at the University Library. He provides research support for graduate students; manages the subscription of electronic resources; development, implementation, and maintenance of library’s technology infrastructure—from online catalogues to digital repositories—to ensure seamless access to information for students, faculty, and researchers. As the first professional librarian at Muni University in 2013, he helped to establish the University Library, and currently as a member of Academics Committee of Isabel Mateos Technical Institute he is helping to re-organize the institute library.
He is a PhD candidate in Information Science at the University of South Africa, where his research focuses on optimizing ICT usage for agricultural knowledge and information management by farmers. He holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Pretoria; Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from the Uganda Martyrs University; Post Graduate Diploma in Information from the Sikkim Manipal University (SMU), Bachelor’s degree of Library and Information Science (Hons) from Makerere University Kampala.
As a part-time teaching staff at the Faculty of Education, and Technoscience at Muni University and Islamic University in Uganda- Arua Campus, he teaches courses that bridge theory and practice in computing and information systems, and information including:
Ethical and Legal Issues in Computing; Professional Issues in Information Systems; Systems Design, Analysis & Administration; Computer Literacy; Fundamentals of Information Systems; Reference Sources & Services; Library Automation; Digital Library Services; Indexing & Abstracting Services; Management of Information Institutions; and Knowledge Cataloguing & Classification.
He is a member of Uganda Library and Information Association (ULIA), and aso a member of Consortium of Uganda University Libraries (CUUL)
